We’re delighted to be celebrating our 10th anniversary this month!
Douglas Maritime was launched in 2014 by shipbroker Douglas Burns, who has decades of experience of working for ship owners and operators. The company is now led by his daughter Anne Hall, who joined the business in 2017 and became its Director in 2022.
And it has been a successful 2024, as we bolstered our global presence by delivering major projects including an export shipment from the US to China and a shipment of aluminium from Malaysia to The Netherlands.
These projects – which were both firsts for our business – have strengthened Douglas Maritime’s relationships with organisations outside Europe.
Commenting on the 10-year anniversary, Anne Hall, Director at Douglas Maritime, said: “Douglas Maritime has gone from strength to strength in the last decade, and we are delighted to be celebrating our tenth anniversary after a successful 2024.
“Our work on two global projects demonstrated our capabilities to a wider market outside Europe, and will help us open up new opportunities as we move into the New Year.
“We’d like to thank our clients and partners for their support over the last ten years and look forward to taking on new challenges in 2025 and beyond.”
Anne Hall champions the shipbroking industry through her active role within the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers (ICS) in North East England. In 2024, she was appointed Education Officer of the North East of England Branch of the ICS: her work includes supporting the development of the sector and the education of its future workforce, and promoting careers in the shipping industry.
While completing her Advanced Diploma from the ICS, Anne won three international prizes for excellence and achieving the highest marks in the qualifying examinations
